Through a chance purchase of some sheet music, I found out that Consolidated Cigar Corp sponsored a radio program on CBS in the 1930s, “The Henry George Program.” The theme song was “Smoke Your Troubles Away.” From what I can infer from the publicity stills and captions on the back page, it was a comedy about a small hotel, amongst whose staff were two bellboys, “Henry” and “George.” I imagine a comedy about a progressive economist proved unworkable.
